Photo gallery – San Francisco and thereabouts

Lately, I’ve shirked my SLR in favor of the serendipitous and somewhat lo-fi charms of my point-and-shoot camera. A photography teacher once told me: “The best camera is the one you take with you.” To be sure, love making art with something small enough to fit into my back pocket. Keeping it humble and whatnot.

During a recent visit to San Francisco, I shot a ragtag gallery of pictures. I was mostly fascinated with the palm trees and the colorful kit of inner Chinatown. With its almost-tropical foliage and its Asian flavor, San Francisco combines two of my very favorite aesthetics. Here are some selects.
